Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.
|
The Longmeadow Volunteer Fire Company holds in-house training every Monday night (with the exception of the Membership meeting nights- the second Monday of the month). This training is a requirement of membership at Longmeadow helping us to meet many yearly requirements. These classes are either taught by qualified, Longmeadow firefighters/Officers, or one of our several MFRI instructors.
Along with helping our firefighters keep their certifications current (for example- CPR, Blood borne Pathogens, Hazmat, and SCBA), this training helps us to be a more cohesive group and work better as a team. The training division at Longmeadow is led by Deputy Chief Adam Hopkins and his training usually draws about 15-20 firefighters a week.
Start acquiring your mandatory points to stay active as a Longmeadow Firefighter.
All active personnel are required to have NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800. All administrative personnel are required to have NIMS 700. These classes can be obtained through self-study online at the Emergency Management Institute.
