July 30, 2003

At 1851 hours, units from Longmeadow were alerted for a PIA at the intersection of Leitersburg and Marsh Pikes.  Units arrived to find a two vehicle head-on collision.  There were no entrapments and all 4 patients were transported priority 3 to Washington County Hospital.

July 24, 2003

At 1916 hours, units from Longmeadow were alerted for a PIA at the intersection of Jefferson Blvd and Sherwood Ave.  Units arrived to find a two vehicle accident.  A third vehicle involved had fled the scene.  There were no injuries.  Crews worked to clean up debris and a small fluid spill.  Units cleared at 1950 hours.

July 23, 2003

At 1445, units from Longmeadow and the City of Hagerstown were alerted for a PIA on Eastern Blvd.  Initial reports were of a piece of farm equipment on top of another vehicle with entrapment.  Units arrived to find on entrapment.  All patients refused transport to the hospital.  The farm equipment was removed from the vehicle and all units were placed in service.

At 1502, units from Longmeadow were alerted for an electrical hazard with entrapment at the intersection of Smallwood Terrace and Highlane Street.  Units arrived to find a man trapped in a energized tree.  The man became caught while cutting branches off the tree which fell onto live power lines.  Alleghany Power responded to shut off power to the area and allow the man to safely descend from the tree.

At 1942 units from Longmeadow received a second alert for a PIA in front of Station 27.  Units arrived to find a single vehicle off the road into a utility pole.  The driver of the vehicle was belted and refused treatment.  Longmeadow Road was shut down for a period of time until Allegheny Power could secure the scene from any electrical hazard.

July 17, 2003

While on a transfer to Franklin County Station 3, Engine 27-2 was alerted for a PIA at the intersection of Molly Pitcher Highway (US 11) and South Washington Street in Antrim Township.  Units arrived to find a head-on collision with all occupants out of the vehicles.  Crews worked on patient care, fluid and debris removal.  Three patients were transported to the hospital.  The incident was then turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police.
