Franklin County Fun

As a severe storm ripped through Franklin County, multiple calls rang out.  Engine 27-1 was alerted to transfer to Greencastle and complied with four personnel under Assistant Chief Latimer's direction.  While heading to the Castle, 27-1 was alerted for the house fire on Terra Cotta Drive in Washington Township.  27-1 operated on scene for several hours, assisting with fire attack, salvage, and overhaul.

While 27-1 operated on Terra Cotta Drive, Truck 27 was alerted for the transfer to Waynesboro and responded with three.  While on the transfer, Truck 27 was alerted for the Building Fire on West Third Street in the Borough.  The Truck arrived and Chief Eckstine established command.  Units found faulty wiring to be the cause of the situation and controlled the scene, advising the homeowner to contact an electrician.

With 27-1 and the Truck both out and about, a crew remained in station to staff the Rescue-Engine.  This worked out perfect as the Engine Company was alerted for the house fire on Molly Pitcher Highway (US11) in Antrim Township.  The Rescue responded with four personnel under the direction of President Flint.  However, this call turned out to be nothing, as they were cancelled en route.
