The Majority of September:

The first weeks of September brought the normal Medic Assist calls, a vehicle fire, a dumpster fire and a few "food on the stoves".  Nothing too exciting.  Nobody had a baby.  Deputy Chief Eckstine started his new job as a firefighter with the City of Hagerstown, finally freeing up some time for him to spend around the station.  Here are some other highlights-

9 September 2006

On Saturday the 9th, years of physical fitness, months of practice and weeks of strategizing came to fruition as the Longmeadow Softball team took the field in the Inaugural Engine 1 Softball Tournament.  The Boys swept through the competition, beating each and every team at least three times.  Although several players made important contributions to the effort, the Shortstop was voted MVP.

The team awaits a challenge.         Our fans were crazy.             Rob found his position early.
