At 1817 hours, units from
Longmeadow were alerted for a rush fire to the rear of 19224 Paradise
Manor Drive. Lieutenant 27 arrived on scene and found the fire to
be off of Paradise Church Road with approximately three acres on fire
and spreading to the east. Lt 27established Paradise Church Road
Command and requested Engine 27-1 and Brush 13. The fire was well
off the road, making accessibility difficult for fire apparatus.
With the wind contributing to fire spread and the topography of the
ground, Command requested Engine 9-4 and an additional brush unit to
assist (Engine 10-4 responded). It took units operating on the
scene approximately one hour to extinguish the fire which burned
approximately four to five acres. The last units cleared the scene
at 2000 hours.
