December 12, 2002
At 0824 Company 27
was alerted to assist Company 9, Leitersburg, with an odor of smoke
in the basement on Clopper Road. Engine 27-1 arrived and after investigating found a
computer power strip on fire and starting to burn the rug. After removing
power strip Crews from Engine 27-1 ventilated the basement, while crews
from Truck 27 checked several electrical outlets through out the house as
the problem was deemed to have come from a power surge. All units cleared
at 0937.

At 1400, Special Unit 27 was alerted to assist Company 2, Williamsport,
with a multiple garage fire on Smithfield Farm Lane. Crews from Special Unit 27 led by Chief
Latimer assisted with extinguishment and extensive overhaul
operations. Special Unit 27 cleared at 1600 hrs

At 0437, Truck 27 was dispatched to assist Company 12, Fairplay, with a
working house fire on Bakersville Road. Crews from Truck 27 ventilated the roof and assisted
in extinguishment as well as extensive overhaul operations. Truck 27
cleared at 0630.

At Approximately
2230, Longmeadow was dispatched for a
reported kitchen fire at 19461 Leitersburg Pike. Truck 27 arrived to find
the fire out with a smoke condition and one patient with burns to the
wrist and neck. Truck 27 crew ventilated house and assisted in patient
care until arrival of medic unit. Crews cleared at 2310.

December 5, 2002
At 0131, units from
Longmeadow were dispatched to assist Company 13, Maugansville, with this
barn fire. Captain 13 arrived advising Headquarters of a barn heavily
involved with high exposure risks. Engine 27-1 arrived and assisted with
protecting exposures and extinguishment, while also shuttling several
loads of water. Crews from Truck 27 assisted with extinguishment and
overhaul. All Company.27 units cleared by 0330.
